Well Pump will not go over 40 psi
I recently had a problem with my water pressure and would hear my well pump continue to pump but would not reach the cut off pressure. My 1hp pump was over 15 years old so I decided to change it but I still can't get the system to pressurize over 40psi? Once it cuts off, the pressure stays at 40 psi unless someone uses a faucet or flushes a toilet. Can you give me some advise as to why the system can not go over 40 psi and ideas to try to raise the cutoff psi?

Submersible pump or above ground? If above ground, what is the location of the pump relative to the tank? That is, is the pump at the well head and the tank in the house?

And add this. If the pump is above ground, how many pipes go into the well, one or two?
