    Forgot to winterize outside faucets...
I was out of town and forgot to winterize my outside faucets before I left. Came home to 5 inches of snow and temperature in the teens tonight! Water is still turned on to the faucets and I left the hoses connected as well. I know... stupid me! Help! What should I do! Don't want pipes to burst! Thanks in advance for any help.

Shut of your main and drain your pipes from the lowest point you can find. Tell me are your spigots metal and are any frost proof

If they are frost proof you may luck out. Have you tried to unscrew the hose? If it is stuck it may be frozen so try 30 seconds with a propane torch or a hear lamp. That should help break the seal, keep your main off until you get the hose off.

I actually used a hair dryer. Hahaha! Worked though! Got both hoses off just took a bit for them to loosen up.

Ok, make sure the spigots are closed and turn the main back on. Go to your water meter and watch the little pointer arrow, it should be stopped dead, mark it and check again in 10 minutes, if it did not move you are good to go.
