Is there a flame sensor on a bdp central heater (1985)?
I have an electric lighter with some wires on it. The heater goes through all the pre-steps to lighting up to lighting up the chamber... then shuts off. Central fan goes on to clear the unit and then it starts all over. If this is a flame sensor on the pilot light should I try and clean it?

Flame sensor [ 1 Answers ]

I have a York Diamond 80 upflow furnace. I think my flame sensor is bad. I checked my wire to the sensor with my meter ( I just completed classes in HVAC) and got 90 on the volts. Just wanted to make sure I am replacing the right part. The flame kicks on and goes out about 5-10 seconds later.
