    Black Vaginal Discharge
Hi,I had a teaspoon of black vaginal discharge one week back.
I consulted my doctor, wherein he said its just an infection of the sanitary pads.and suggested me two tablets. Rappidom(Twice a day before meal for 5days) Doxim 100mg (after meal for 7 days), Zocon 200 (once a week,3 tablets). He also took a urine test where he said there is a very very minor infection.. After the medicines within 2 days the infection has reduced a lot.I went to the doc again after 7 days, On the 7th day and today the there is no black discharge, but I am getting a yellowish white discharge, most of it is white.
On the 7th day after meeting doc again, He has continued Rappidom for 10 more days and included Cifran CTH 300 mg (twice a day for 5days) and MFold (1 month 1ce a day)

Please suggest if the whitish yellow discharge is normal, Its in good amount like more than half a spoon. My last periods were on 18th Sep to 22-23rd Sep.hi,I had a teaspoon of black vaginal discharge one week back.

Sanitary pads or Tampax that are inserted. If Tampax, then you have been leaving them in too long, causing a vaginal infection, and you are quite lucky it did not go any further. Does the white discharge have an odor?

No there is no odor to it.. I never used a Tampax, its sanitary pads only which i use...
Why did you say I am lucky? Can it cause future problems? Or can it occur again?

Did your doctor actually check for an infection due to the black discharge or did you only have a urine test? Did you have a vaginal exam done? Did he check for infection again when you went back after the first 7 days?

I don't think he knows what he is dealing with. If the whitish discharge has no odor, there is nothing to worry about but you did indicate at one time it had a yellow colour which would mean a vaginal bacterial infection. He has put you on a lot of different medications. Did you not wonder about this ?

What is your age by the way ?

I am thinking you had better get a second opinion on whatever condition you have.We cant suggest or diagnose here, no one can do that on the internet.

No wonder you are confused, so is he.

It's possible that the black discharge was simply left from your previous period. Old blood will often be very dark in colour and since it was just a one time small amount, that could be a possibility. Since he didn't actually check for infection, I would be concerned about so much medication being prescribed.

Discharge will change throughout your cycle, and often it will be more of a whitish or creamy colour. Sometimes it can seem like a fair amount, while other times it may be only just a little that is noticed.
Without an odor or itching it may simply be vaginal discharge that is not associated with an infection. If it is due to an infection, your doctor has you taking enough medication, for stomach issues, yeast infection, and antibiotics included, that it should take care of it.

If it were stomach issues, it would not be a vaginal discharge, but from the bowels. So just what is her doctor doing ?

I can understand a change in antibiotics if it is not clearing up a UTI. Sometimes a different strength will work better. But why three different antibiotics?

I wondered about the Rappidom as well, which covers a variety of stomach issues, so my guess is that he may be trying to just cover a variety of possibilities without actually knowing for certain, other than the mild bladder infection, which is the only thing that he apparently checked given how the op described the situation.

So, she needs another doctor, certainly not this one who is playing a guessing game and doing not due diligence.
