Dr Bill please give me your input ETG test after about 70 hours
    Hi Dr. Bill,

I am a male, 44 and 150 lbs. Thursday night I had 3 glasses of red wine that I finished at 9pm and I'm called for an ETG test on Monday morning at 8am. I am well hydrated and this is the only occurrence of drinking in over a year.

What are the chances of failing the test if cutoff is at 500.

Dr Bill is no longer answer questions here.

With that time frame, you're probably going to be ok.

Dr. Bill no longer posts on this site or any other.

Like odinn said, with that time frame you should be fine. Only thing that stuck out was you saying you're well hydrated. If you're drinking lots of water to try and flush your system, the only concern may be failing for dilution. But it depends on how much water you're drinking to try and flush, which you don't mention.

Thanks, I work out and drink a lot of water and Gatorade, not trying to flush it out as I hear that may invalidate the test. It was a dumb move, I don't know what I was thinking. Having been an alcoholic for many years, I knew better. It was my birthday and that seemed to make it OK for some reason.I am thinking the best course of action is to just come clean and fess up. The more I think about it, the more I think there is still something wrong with me to even have had a drink to begin with. I know that I don't want to ever go back to what I was just a year ago.For Gods sake, I'm on a website trying to figure out if I will pass a test that should really be a non issue if I was just capable of not drinking. That says something.

Don't beat yourself up on that. There are a good number of people that post on this forum that have screwed up. It is the human condition.

You know you were a alcoholic, and you're recovering; you've realized that you've made a mistake and you're recovering. The awesome thing is that you don't need to do this alone. You can get support. There are AA meetings all over the place. Try it out.
