    What should I do?
I am on the pill for almost a month I take it everyday but not on time. Sometimes hours apart. Had sex but the next day started my period. Because I have not been taking the pills regularly, should I still get an emergency contraceptive?

The pill is not really effective until you've been on it for at least a month. Your doctor should have explained that to you.

No form of birth control is 100% effective, so any time you have sex, even if you're using protection, and even if you're using it correctly, pregnancy is possible.

It sounds like you had sex a few days ago from what you posted. If that's the case, it's too late for the morning after pill.

You'll have to wait and see. It is best to use the pill and a condom together. Even then it's still possible to get pregnant.

    Good luck.

What's different from before is that many pills now are effective sooner, after a week of use, however, they are to be taken consistently to offer the best protection. Find a time that you can remember, such as with breakfast. Or set your phone alarm at a convenient time so that you can start taking them ontime each day.

How long ago did this happen? As Alty said, if too much time has passed, it could be too late for emergency contraception.

You have to start taking responsibility, too late for the morning after pill now. At this point think of baby names and pray you are not pregnant.

Assuming you will not be pregnant, start taking pill on schedule, perhaps when you first wake up, every day. Properly.

Also, if you don't, then don't have sex. Unless you are willing to become pregnant.

** remember, that even with the pill, you are not 100 percent effective, so pregnancy is still possible.
