    Electric Current in Bath Water!!
I moved in this house in March everything has been fine up until a week ago. I was soaking in the tub one night ran my hand under the running water and felt a few minor jolts, when I turnt off the water I was slightly shocked by the faucet. There is no current in the water sitting in the tub, only from the faucet area. I got a couple of family members to check it out just making sure I wasn't losing my mind. If I use the shower everything is fine and no current from the faucet when I go to turn the water off. I checked the sink, no current there. Also I noticed when the lights are off in my bathroom the outlets don't work. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it. I have 3 children, now we only take showers and wash offs in the sink to prevent that mild/moderate jolt from the bath tub faucet. Can anyone give me any insight of what I'm dealing with and do??

Call an electrician immediately. This is not something that the home owner can diagnosis. The problem is related to the electrical grounding system and unlikely related to the outlets not working when light switch is in the off position. That problem indicates that a less than knowledgeable person has done work on the wiring.

Has any plumbing work been done in the area of the bathroom? Specifically, did anyone replace a section of metal pipe with a section of plastic pipe?

If so, you must have a jumper wire connected to both ends of the metal pipe to restore the bonding/grounding of the two section of metal pipes.
