Can I still be a nurse with this charge?
I am in a tough predicament; I am 18 years old I am currently doing my prerequisites for nursing I broke up with my ex girlfriend and she went a lied to the police and got a restraining order on me. At the time I thought it was only if I contacted her that I would go to jail so when she was kicked out I let her in my house to stay the night. It was a setup so now I am facing Assault and a no contact order violation DV. I know I will beat the Assault because I did not do anything but will the No contact order Dv stop me form being a CRNA. I have a 3.71 gpa and in my two years in college I have made High Honors twice for both those years. My question is can I still be a CRNA?

If you are found guilty, no, you cannot go into any aspect of the medical profession.

Even though it is not a felony and it is just a no contact order violation?

Yes. Even though it is not a felony. Medical professional mus have a squeaky clean record. I don't know about your state, but where I am from we had to have a background check prior to entering nursing school, then again prior to graduation. My license has to be renewed every two years and I have to have yet another beck ground check before they release a new license.

This charge, fabricated or not, is in reference to violating, your words, no contact order Dv. DV is short for domestic violence. So, if found guilty, it appears you are violent. Medical facilities don't care about your GPA or high honors. They only want to know that you graduated, passed your boards, can pass a drug test, and have a clean record.

It might be in your best interests to hire a good attorney who can have these charges dismissed. Not only that, but permanently get rid of the girl who is trying to hold you back from your dreams and goals.
