Feeling pressure in rear end at 29 weeks
Hello I just turned 29 weeks yesterday and since I woke up this morning I've been feeling pressure in my rear end like I have to have a BM but every time I try nothing comes even when I strain and push. Its been feeling really uncomfortable especially when I stand up but I haven't been having any cramping or anything just pressure . Has anyone felt this before and should I be worried?

I wouldn't strain and push; you could be constipated, or it could be the baby moved to a different position and it is putting stress on that part of your bowels. We can know exactly, but check in with your doctor and explain what you are feeling.

I am not an expert on pregnancies and you may hear other thoughts from those here who are.

It can be pretty common in the second half of pregnancy, especially as you get further along. Some women say that it feels like baby is sitting right there, and in some cases baby's position can be part of it. Often your baby will shift up and down so that you might feel the pressure sometimes and not at other times.

You also have more pressure, and often swelling, on the veins in that area which can cause feelings of pressure or fullness. As tickle said, constipation is common as well which is another possibility.

Try to get some regular exercise, eat a varied diet, and drink plenty of fluids. You can try some position changes yourself to see if any help. Pelvic rocks can sometimes get baby to shift position or relieve some of the pressure. Sitting on a birthing ball can be helpful as well.

More than likely it is one of the annoyances of pregnancy and not a medical concern, but certainly let your doctor or midwife be aware if it continues or worsens. They may decide to do a check as a precaution.
