If a customer returns goods purchased with an early payment discount and then returns them, do they receive a credit for the original price or the discounted price?

If a customer pays within the discount timeframe then returns the goods he or she would be reimbursed the discounted rate, not the purchase price. In other words the customer would be reimbursed for the price he or she actually paid.
