    Hiv positive and negative girlfriend
    Hi, I recently went for an HIV test and the doctor told me I am positive and I did not get to see the results myself. My girlfriend is 4 months pregnant now, she went for an HIV test and it came negative, we have been having unprotected sex up until I found out my results while she was 2 months pregnant. I must admit I cheated on her once 4 days before I went for the HIV test (I did not ejaculate inside of the girl I was cheating with) and slept with my girlfriend the following day and ejaculated in her.

    Is it possible that the test can pick up that you are HIV positive in 4 days if you have been infected? If so how is it that my girlfriend happened to be negative?

    You should consult with your doctor and not online people. But generally speaking it takes 3 to 6 months to show.

    Did you have the EIA test or the Western Blot test? I've seen several false positives. It would be extremely rare for a positive after only 4 days exposure.
