    I'm going crazy
    I'm going crazy.
Like the posts in this thread I'm also experiencing small black dots. It feels like they race across my body, especially at night. But when I examine myself I just find tiny period-like (.) bugs? Standing still. I've cleaned myself and my house thuroughly for weeks but nothing helps. Even tried bugsprays, lice shampoo (all ova), and boiling all my clothes,
Spraying myself with vinegar (thats the point I've reached) gives relief enough to fall asleep- they seem to like it less than I do.
I'm not sure if a doctor or an exterminator is the correct path to take- and it seems these pages have more questions than answers...
Everyone I've talked to so far just say its in my head. But its NOT. Others say its bedbugs- its not. You can hardly see them. It took me weeks before I even spotted one.
Right now I'm just counting down until winter when I can sit outside and induce hypothermia to kill them off- and leave my windows open to freeze any lifeform.
But its August, and I would really like to know what it is NOW, so I can research how to kill them all.

Put one in a pill bottle and take it to your doctor.

You need to get a specimen to someone with a microscope to identify it. Exterminators have microscopes. So do Schools that teach Biology. In the U.S., Dept. of Agriculture offices have them as well. Doctors may or may not have one in their office/clinic.

Collecting the specimen can be tricky when they're that small. If you can lay a white piece of paper out and they get on it, you can capture them with transparent tape. Another method is to set out a dish of hot water to attract them and capture them in a bottle with a lid when they jump into the water. The tape will work in lifting them off your skin, but not as well as on the paper.
