At only a year... I personally think it's a very dumb idea. After only a year she hasn't let her hair down yet, and you don't see the real her yet. I think it's a bad idea to propose at less than 3 years.

When should a boy propose a girl or what does proposing to a girl means?

1) When a boy and girl, they both are matured enough to understand each other.
2) When they both love each other and accept each others living style.
3) When both of them knows the circumstances of their surroundings (By surroundings I not only mean family but whatever or whoever is around their loved ones) and feel satisfied.
4) When you actually know each other. For that time doesn't matter. ITS NOT THAT THAT IN 1 YEAR THE GIRL WON'T LET HER HAIR DOWN. But both girl and boy should be honest with each other.

This what actual proposing means. PROPOSE word doesn't vary from CULTURE TO CULTURE BUT IT VARIES FROM PERSON TO PERSON BUT THE VALUE SHOULD REMAIN THE SAME.

My opinion is a year is far too soon. You don't know each other well enough yet. As I said earlier... I believe after three years you will know enough about them that you will make a much better decision to marry or not.

Also at a year you are usually still in lust with them....at three years lust will have worn off and if you still feel the same way its likely to be actual love.

I firmly believe the main reason for most divorces are the result of rushing into a marriage way too quickly.

Besides..if you plan to spend the rest of your lives together....why worry about waiting another two years to decide?
