What brand of pregnancy test did you use? Did you follow the directions carefully, especially as to when to read the results? Often the results need to be read in the first few minutes, reading them after that time can sometimes show a faint line, making it appear to be positive. If you had bleeding for 7 days, it sounds as though you did have a period.

The blood test would have been more accurate as hcg will show earlier in blood than in urine by several days. If there had been a miscarriage, the hcg usually stays elevated enough for a while to still show positive.

If all was done correctly, and you were indeed pregnant then had a miscarriage, it can happen that you saw an early positive, but it later became negative due to an early loss.
