    I'm replacing the pull chain switch from my ceiling fan. The colors it has are blue,
    I'm replacing the pull chain switch from my ceiling fan. The colors it has are blue, red and two black wires. My replacement switch call for a orange , yellow, purple and a black wire. How do I determine which wire goes into the numbers 1,2,3 and L? My ceiling fan does have a light which work perfectly
    I do not know the brand name of my fan.

    You can only verify by testing different combinations. Black is almost always common.
