Just bought a new maytag refrigerator. Ice maker works but water dispenser does not.
We think it might be that the line is clogged from the refrigerator to the water heater. There is a (T) valve connecting them together. And a water filter there too. I did tell them at the time of delivery and I did call the store and report it. But my husband wants to try and fix it. Any info. Would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Linda

Water heater? Don't try to fix if new, they may not honor warranty if you do something else.

If you want to fix it you will have to get a good digital multimeter, or even an analog meter, but a digital is better if you have never used a meter. Go to Home Depot, Lowe's, or (expensive, but good) Radio Shack and find a good digital multimeter. A good meter will have automatic voltage protection in case you have voltage on a circuit when you have it set to "ohms." Make sure to ask about this feature. Others will have a fuse to protect the meter in case you have voltage on something, like a capacitor when you have it set to "ohms." To diagnose your refrigerator you will need to find the water valves and unplug the refrigerator. Set the meter to ohms and put the test leads on the terminals where a power plug attaches to the water valve solenoid. You will have to unplug the power from the solenoids to get to the terminals. Read both solenoids because you know that the ice maker solenoid is good. If you get a reading of infinity on the water dispenser solenoid or a reading that is very high then you will know that it is bad. The next thing to do is to plug the ice maker solenoid back in and leave the water dispenser unplugged. Then plug in the refrigerator. Put meter on "Volts" and push the lead tips into the plug and have someone press the switch like they want water. See if you get voltage. If you do then you know that it is good. You have a stopped up line or trash in the solenoid. Here are some manuals: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8010163/How%20to%20use%20Test%20Equipment%20Service%20Manu al.pdf
