    PRV and pipesmakes noise
I recently adjusted my water pressure to 50 psi from 40. Once I did this the pipes started singing when water is turned on. I reduced the pressure back to 40 it still happens.

I tried draining the pipes thinking air might be in the lines. Still makes the noise.

I'm thinking I need to replace the PRV valve or add an expansion tank near the water tank, possibly both? The psi on the water tank outlet is 40 psi

    Thanks

When the pipes make a noise place your hand on the PRV. Can you feel it vibrate? Let me know. Back to you, Tom

Replacing a PRV [ 5 Answers ]

My PRV valve is bad, the pressure is at 75 and I need to reduce it to 25psi. It looks like an easy job to replace it. Close the main water valve, drain the water and install the new one. Has anyone done this before is there anything special I need to know or watch out for? Thank you Ron
