The fuse for the thermostat (24v) keeps blowing

Hi, I found a blown 5amp fuse for the thermostat that was causing my heating system not to work. Put a new 5amp fuse in and 2 min. later I hear clicking noise from the thermostat and then it went out again. I may have a short somewhere. But, where do I start and what do I need to check?

I am adding 4 cadet heaters to an addition I have added to my home. I would like to put in relays to that they will all turn on with the central thermostat that controls a propane furnace. It is a 24v thermostat. Has anyone done this, what kind of relays would I need? The heaters will be 240v....
