    Nope... you had your pill... now you have to pay the bill.

    Somebody has to pay to raise it... why not the father ( I didn't sleep with her and I certainly don't want my tax dollars spent on it). Unless the mothers future spouse wants to adopt...you foot the bill.

    Sign over? A child isn't a car. The only time you can sign away parenthood is if someone wants to adopt. In any state.

    There is this myth that a parent can just sign over their rights. But its only a myth! There is actually a sticky note at the top of this forum that deals with this issue). Only a court can terminate parental rights and courts are very reluctant to do so. They will not do so just to allow a parent out of paying support. Even if they will issue a TPR, they will only do so if it does not relieve you of your support obligation. So you may (unlikely though) be able to terminate rights, but not responsibilities.

    So why not man up and be a father to this child?
