I was wondering about E.T.G. as far as alcohol testing goes.. will diethyl ether produce EtG in the liver causing you to fail an EtG test? Was just wondering because as far as I know diethyl ether is made from ethanol. Any input?

Consuming or using alcohol (including using products its an ingredient in) causes you to fail an ETG test. If you are being tested, (for probation or Parole)... you are required to abstain. THere are no acceptable arguments or excuses. Use is use.

From what I've been reading, it looks like it will show up so you should avoid using that as well.

Either way, but particularly, if drank, I would tend to believe yes. If inhaled, I'm not sure... it would reach the liver and get filtered out and I would imagine that it would produce the same by-product, but how much... to be detectable for what time - not even the foggiest idea...

If you find out from personal or other experience, I would be kind of interested to know as well... I know that gassing up my truck can cause a warn or fail on my ignition interlock - even hand sanitizer from the place I go to drop can cause it to freak out... ironic, really. I pee in a cup to get my ETG tested, then sanitize my hands after flushing, then go blow into an interlock device, only to get a warning for alcohol on the breath test... because of the sanitizer from the testing facility.
