Hi I have a question about hpv
Hi, I had a vaginal discharge with bad odor & itchiness. I consulted an OB gyne that advised me to take a vaginal suppository for 3 days, she just checked my vagina without any test yet & also said that I have small genital warts on my labia. It's my first time to consult an OB so I went to another OB for second opinion, the second OB made my first pap smear & the result is normal but I have bacterial vaginitis, she prescribed me also a vaginal suppository for 7days and said that she don't consider the thing warts because it looks as though a skin irritation. I was confused so I went to another OB, the third doctor made another pap smear & said that the thing may be rashes due to skin irritation or it may also be starting warts then she prescribed me an ointment-triderm for a week. What should I do they have different answers. Thanks

Vaginal discharge and itchiness is there.
1st doc. Advised vaginal suppository, that you can use for vaginal discharge. 2nd doc. Did pap smear and said you have bacterial vaginitis and also prscribed vaginal suppository but for 7 days( here you can decide up to when you want to use that acc. To how u feel). 2nd doc. Prescribed an ointment, if that is just for outer skin or labia you can apply that.
Don't be confuse, do what doc. Said. I am not expert but I would say that the doc. Answers were just a little different, that's all.

Please stop going to one doctor after another. Be educated about your body and pick one you trust. Ask questions, and read!
There's a good chance that a discharge, if white like cottage cheese, is yeast, a very common condition. There are many treatments. Here in the US we usually take Monistat. You sound like you are in another country, where suppositories are more common. But you had a doctor say bacterial, and bacterial and yeast are very different.
Much of medicine has a 'wait and see' aspect to it. Warts will grow and spread. Infections will respond to treatment or they won't. You could have asked for a lab test to see what the discharge is. You haven't told us if it's gone or not.

Hi thanks for your answers I appreciate it, but what I am really concern about is the thing on my genital not sure if its genital warts or just rashes. My bacterial vaginitis is now OK. I am just really confused because the 3 doctors have diff answers about the rashes on my labia. Thanks! I am from the Philippines anyway.

Actually you are correct because when I searched it in Google warts they look nasty, but what I have are tiny red bumps, and I am bothered on why the first doctor would say that these are warts then the others are no.

A test for HPV would positively prove if you do or don't have HPV... because its really not subjective and because some infected people might not actually have any warts, and might not ever.
