I have a Hunter fan whose 3 ceiling lights have been slowly dimming over 3 months. Now they are but a faint candle light.

It seems this may be a capacitor. All the voltages seem OK. But I cannot find this capacitor at home depot or other electronic stores to test it.

THe capacitor part number is VCED (74132-01). It is a 5uF/250VAC.

Since this is a "Starter capacitor", perhaps I can just bypass it completely. I don't mind doing this and ordering a new one if this can be done. Or perhaps you have another thought on the situation.

    Thanks,

I have no wall switch for my ceiling fan lights or the fan itself. I wish to find a 3 position pull chain light switch so I can have OFF, FULL AND DIM for the lights.
