Acidic water from well eats holes in copper pipe before the neutralizer. What can I
My home gets its water from a well. This water is acidic and is treated with a neutralizer. My problem is the water eats holes in the copper pipe before the neutralizer. Can I use pipe other than copper?

yes you can. For cold water convert to PVC. For hot water convert to CPVC. You might also have your system checked for electrolysis. Electrolysis will cause small pinholes in copper pipes. Good luck, Tom

We were faced with the same issue in North GA mountains. Used 1" PVC to house and tank, 3/4" CPVC as runners and 1/2 CPVC as risers. 13 years no problems. You can probably get scrap value to cover the material costs for a DIY job.
