    Broken elbow under slab
    Howdy,

I have a broken elbow under slab and I am trying to get a ball park figure what the cost should be for a complete turn-key replacement job? Trying to make sure I have some type of expectation of what a reasonable quote would look like. Also considered renting the jack hammer and breaking out the concrete myself to save money but wonder how much I would save going that route?

    Any advice/help is greatly appreciated...

We don't give estimates without being there to access, cost of labor, (union or non union) or to lay out the material list. Labor costs varies too much between areas fior us to get involved. Having said that if I were to rent a jackhammer it would take 2 to 3 hours for me to take up the slab, replace the elbo,(cast iron?) and patch the slab. You can get your own ballpark figure by adding the cost of the rental to three time the going labor rate in your area.
Any "scutt work", such as jackhammering up the slab and bearing the elbo will result in big labor saving on your part. More if you do the patch yourself and just pay the [plumber to replace the broken elbo. Good luck, Tom
