Definitely emo in my book, indie is more Razorlight and the Killers. But all music genres are subjective anyway. I'd say they we're too rocky and glam to be indie personally.

Panic! Is definitely emo music. There is a genre of music that's being created and itsemo music. That's like fall out boy or my chemical romance.

Well, emo music was originally an offshoot of hardcore punk. Some of the main bands of the original emo movement were Still Life, Rites of Spring, and Kerosene 454. In the original sense, Panic! At the Disco is not emo. However, in the last few years, a lot of alternate, emotionally-charged rock has been labelled emo. In that sense, Panic! At the Disco could be considered emo.

    Panic! At the disco:

    Is a completely orignial creation
    A little bit of techno,
With half a cup of emotion
    A gallon of sex talk
Just a hint of foul language
And the hottest and most beautifuly sounding
    Lead singer.

Blend well for 2 full cd listenings.
Serve to all your friends who listen
To fall out boy, switchfoot, hellogoodbye, dashboard confessionals, and watch strongbad.
    And wha BAMB!
    Instand liking.

Um... fall out boy and my chem are emo?? Wow!

    No

    Actualy:
    Urban dictionary: Fall Out Boy-
Here's an actual defenition, not JUST an opinion -

A band from chicago formed around 2001. It consists of pete Wentz, Patrick Stump, Andrew Hurley, Joe Trohman. They are not I REAPEAT NOT, and emo band(see the get up kids for some). If anything someone could call them Pop-punk. In my opinion a very good band who's fans actually go deeper than what most of you think. Fall Out Boy did exist before they were on TRL, therefore their fans existed before TRL and thefore do not consist only of 13 year old girls who love guys in gril pants.

Catchy guitar riffs and unique vocals make their music better than anything you and your crappy yamaha bass could put out.

My chem: (this is quoted from urban dictionary)
'one of the most important messages the band gives out is that self-harm is not acceptable.
They're very nice guys, I hung out without them quite a bit a few weeks ago, and none of them once mentioned a wish to slit their wrists, mainly they just took the mickey out of each other, and tried to set me on fire by dropping their cigarettes on my shoes.
Whilst all of them hate homophobia, and make a point of standing up for anti-prejudiced feelings, none of them are actually gay, just open-minded people, who stand up for others who can't stand up for themselves.'

They aren't emo, please research genres and learn correct definitions before you label bands as emo, because it really is the most overused, and wrongly used genre out there.

Emo is looking deeper into life, though... it's slow ballads about stuff that actually matters. Like Secondhand Serenade. that band is emo. John vesley sings about love, not things like hating your parents or being against the government...
