I'm pregnant obviously, I've been on birth control for almost four years now. It failed me, I've never wanted children of my own and I've definitely thought this through. I'm about six weeks in and it's already taking a toll on me. I hate being tired all the time, I can't eat, the thought of food makes me nauseous. I can't imagine carrying out this pregnancy. Not to mention, I'm just not in the right spot financially right now. So I've decided to get an abortion. I'm scheduled to get the abortion pill next week.

I want advice from people that have gone through this. I know there's going to be heavy bleeding and cramping. But how bad is it? What can I do to get through this as easy as possible?

I'm not looking for a lecture I'm just looking for someone to talk to about this because yes, I'm extremely nervous.

The abortion pill doesn't always work. Also, it's very hard on your body. I haven't been through it, but I know others that have. If I were in your position I'd consider a normal abortion, not the abortion pill.

As far as the fetus is at six weeks, there really isn't very much there. I strongly suggest discussing this with your doctor to explore all of your options. It is, remember, your body, your choice.

Talk to your doctor or a clinic about a medical abortion. This consists of two different pills, and is often what is used very early in pregnancy. It is different from the abortion pill. There can be slight variations for everyone, but generally you will have bleeding and cramps that will gain in intensity and frequency. Very often it will mimic labor contractions, so what would help someone in labor, may be helpful. Having someone to hold your hand, stroke your head, remind you to breathe through each contraction, trying to relax in a warm shower, etc..

It doesn't mimic contractions, but actually causes contractions. It will put you in labor in order to expel the products of conception. I use it frequently on early fetal demises that do not pass out of the uterus naturally.

Very true J_9... thank you for putting it more directly. My intent was to liken it to natural labor contractions as an example, when they are indeed contractions, just medically induced.
