    1992 Honda Civic won't start.
We have a 1992 Honda Civic that will not start. Since the coil had corrosion on the connector we replaced both the distributor and coil. In the process the fuel pump went out as well so the fuel pump is new also. Now we are getting fuel to the motor ( it can be smelled) but still no spark. Spark plugs are new and properly gaped. We also can not get the drivers door opened so can not check all fuses thoroughly. HELP!!

. Check all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter.

. Verify that the Check Engine Light (CEL) comes on for 2 seconds and then goes out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II). During this 2 second interval, verify that you can hear the fuel pump run.

If all of that checks out okay, the problem is with the distributor. Normally, no spark is caused by the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and/or coil being bad. If you replace the ICM, be sure to coat the back of it with silicone heat transfer compound--otherwise, it won't last long. I only recommend genuine Honda distributor housings--all others are suspect and unreliable.
