    Problem with fan.
Let me try to explain. I have a brand new HVAC System. It's a Nordyne/Tappan system with a White Rogers thermostat. The problem is with the fan. It's an intermittent problem because it stops acting up after a while but I can't explain why but then it returns again.

When the compressor/heat pump stops, the fan keep on going. I understand that the fan should still be blowing after the compressor/heat pump stops for about a minute, but in my case, the fan will blow for about 5 minutes and the compressor/heat pump will come on again for about one minute, generate a little heat and then stop but the fan is still blowing and this process will go on and on and on… At that point, not enough heat will be generated because the fan runs for a lot longer period than the compressor/heat pump.

Did you install this unit yourself? If you had it installed then call them and explain what is going on. It sounds like an adjustment has been missed.

    Hi Cdad,
The unit was installed by the previous owner just before I bought the house. I did contact the HVAC contractor and he told me to "wait and see". He also said that I might have to upgrade the thermostat.

Here is the problem. Some units make it so the warranty is not transferrable. With others is doent matter. Either way it does require a visit from the sounds of it. If you bought a home warranty then talk to those people. The way you describe it just sounds odd. Units do cycle during the heating process but your sounds out of line from the description.
