    Taxes for an L1 Visa
I have a L1 tax question. I hope you can help me.

I got an L1 Visa and my Family an L2 Visa. My family is living in Houston TX area and I have been traveling from USA to Mexico since July 2006. 80% of my time I am in Mexico. I receive 100% of my monthly pay in Pesos in Mexico. I do not receive money in the USA.

Do I need to pay taxes in USA, if not, what do I need to do?

    Thanks

    Luis

    Luis:

The movement for your family to U.S. dictates that you must file a U.S. return and pay U.S. taxs.

H1 VISA and taxes [ 1 Answers ]

I was told, I can deduct (itemized) all the expences related to stay (like apartment rent, food etc... ) since I am on H1-B visa. I have been working for the same employer in the same location for the past 5 years. I have allways done standard deduction. Is this true in anyway? Thanks
