I've signed into a contract at a specific location for boxing but they moved venues.
    Hello,

I've signed into a 12 month contract starting on the 9th of October with fortnightly payments. I signed into a boxing gym which was located in Liverpool or area (a). However the gym had decided to change venue and move further away from area (a) to area (b) which increased my public transport time and the cost to go to and from the gym.

So my question is, Can I get out of the contract without penalty fees?

Because for one the reason I choose this gym was because it had the most convenient location compared to other similar, and I signed into the 12 month contract assuming that we will be staying at the same place, however the move from area (a) to (b) made it much more difficult for me to attend session as I am also a university student.

In the contract I signed, it said nothing about penalty fees only that I will need to pay the casual fee for any classes attended.

You need to read the terms of the contract. The contract should spell out what you can do. If it doesn't, talk to the gym and see what you can work out. If they refuse to let you out of the contract I would send them a letter stating that since the gym's location has changed making it no longer convenient for you to attend classes there, you are cancelling the contract. Let them take you to court if they want. I think you will win.

It will depend on the exact terms of the contract. All here in the States, have terms with specify what happens.

Often it will deal with how far they moved.
