Find lost relative in Zhenghai, Ningbo, China
I am trying to trace my father-in-law's relatives supposedly from Zhenghai (or Chung Hoi in Cantonese, a place near to Ningbo or Shanghai). We don't have his exact home town location but has some photos of his family and names of his brothers & sister.

He die in Sabah, Malaysia (Jesselton or now called Kota Kinabalu city) in 1975 and would have been 102 if he is alive (Born in the year of Rat in 1912).

We would appreciate if you could give us a government agency or some NGO to help trace their relatives.

    Thank you very much.

    Rest regards

To my knowledge there is no such thing. Family records if the family was legally registered there, you would have to check with the local provincial leaders, and maybe even go to the city leaders to see if records of being registered existed.

But all of this would have been before computers, and any search would have to be by hand of all record books.

A private investigator is most likely the only choice. Be ready to pay "gifts" to local officials for helping with the work.
