    Louisiana Partyear resident or Resident
    Hey all,

I am an international student attending LSU on an F-1 visa. I have been in the states since 2000, so filing the federal return as a resident.
My question, do I also file Louisiana state taxes as resident, or rather as part year resident? I have been in Louisiana since August 2005.

    Thank you!

You can probably file as a non-resident since you are a student.

You STILL have to pay Louisiana taxes for income earned inside the state, but filing as a non-resident may offer soe advantages.
