    To qualify for a German passport
    Can I qualify to apply for a German passport if my great grandad was born in Germany and came to SA in 1876?

    No... if you parents were maybe.. but not your grandparents and certainly not great grandparents. Both my Grandmothers immigrated from Germany... and I don't qualify on that basis.
