    EtG alcohol testing levels
I am being monitored for alcohol, presumably using the EtG test I have read about.

I ordered a non-alcoholic fruit drink at a comedy club Saturday night (night before last), but the waiter got mixed up and gave me one with alcohol.

I took a pretty small sip and noticed the alcohol immediately. That's all I drank.

I was tested today, the next Monday.

I'm worried and really don't want to wait up to a week or more to assume nothing was found.

Do I have anything to worry about, or should my EtG level fall below the detection limit or cutoff?

    Thanks!

If all you drank was a sip as you said... you should pass it.

Yeah, all I drank was a sip, and it wasn't a gulp either. It was more than a taste though. So... small to medium sized sip :)

Smoothy, thanks for your response. But I guess I really need to be reassured. I am new though and am not sure how to interpret this, but it sure seems like you have an excellent reputation, but I still manage to worry - I mean, it seems like you are mainly a computer expert. Do you really feel confident about this ? Thanks again.Anybody else viewing this, please chip in.Thanks!

Your amount keeps changing...a "pretty small sip" became a "small to medium sized sip" with a smile after it....does the smile indicate that maybe you had more than a sip but you don't want to admit it?

If you can't be straight with us, you're not going to get an accurate answer.

If it really was a sip, then you'll be ok. If you're lying to cover yourself for some reason here, there is no way for us to give you an answer.

No. No intended change. I was just trying to describe the sip with the accuracy my recollection allows, and I wasn't concerned with trying to be consistent like I had something to hide. Anyway, pretty small might be small to medium, right? I don't know. And the smile indicates only the difficulty of making such estimates, I think. I have nothing to gain by fooling myself or anyone else and

I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to my question! I feel so much better, even if it was more like a small/medium sip :-) Whew!

I haven't had a drink since 2-24-13. I do voluntary ETG test twice a month. I recently failed a test on November 1st. The cutoff was 100ng/mL. My levels were ETG 406ng/ml and ets 34ng/ml. I was shocked and upset. I went home and tried to think about what could have caused it. The only thing I could...

Greetings. I'm working on a paper regarding drug and alcohol testing and got a little confused on the math (not for a science class obviously!). I was wondering if anyone could help me clarify one small point using the ETG test as an example. Is a 50 cutoff level more or less sensitive than a...

I have been court ordered to participate in random EtG alcohol testing. During the times in which I was drinking alcohol, my EtG levels were consistently >10,000.
