Hi. Ive been searching for this title for years. I have a feeling it's a rare one, lol! I would love to find this old movie, and appreciate any help. I saw the movie on TV when I was quite young, early-mid 80s, and should have been in bed. My mum came home and I had to race off to bed and pretend I was asleep, but I sneaked out again later to catch the ending.

Movie is set in historic America; kind of a war-revolution-western-romance. A gang of opportunists (Spanish/Mexican I think) take advantage of a plantation wife and her staff, holding them hostage, while the husband/land owner was away for a few weeks on war business. The frigid wife is seduced, and ends up falling in love with the hot gang-leader. She helps him and his gang to escape as her husband comes home. Then I missed some... to return to... the wife, in her older age, wrote a best-selling-book about her experience. The old gang-leader discovers the book and returns to reunite with her. Ring any bells..? Cheers
