    Pressure loss after freeze
So let me give you a little back story. This year has been one of the coldest we had here. While I was out of town my treatment plant sprayers froze up an in turn backed up into my toilet in the living room area. My cleaning lady being the only one here turned the water off to all toilets. She didn't know at the time that doing so wouldn't help. Anyway when I returned the next day my master bedroom toilet was frozen. Had no water coming to it. Everything else was fine. Shower, bathtub. Etc.

The next day it finally started to fill again only now it bubbles a lot. This is where the real problem begin. All of a sudden I lost a lot of pressure in the shower beside that toilet. I've been around the house checked every where I can and see no leaks. Pressure is so low in the shower it's almost unusable. Any suggestions on what this could be?

Start by removing the shower head and cleaning it...see if that is plugged up.

My next thought would be to make sure all fixtures are shut off and then I would suggest going over to the water meter and looking at the RED POINTER...if you have pipes that go into the concrete slab AND the pointer moves at all (over time) then there is a leak under the slab (UGH!).

    Start there...

Thanks for the response. I have a well an do not use a water meter. The house is on a slab an I have already tested the head in a different shower an it works fine there. I'm really hoping it's not a leak under the slab. My only question is would a leak under the slab only cause the shower to loose power. The bath and two sinks still have full pressure. Thanks!

Pressure loss [ 1 Answers ]

Recently had a faulty check valve replaced on a well pump, and I have had problems regulating the water pressure since. The pressure tank itself is not losing pressure. It has been tested. The pressure in the tank is 35 psi. The pressure switch is set at 40-60 psi. The (I believe it's called)...
