Birth control confusion
I've been on a pill for almost 2 years, and had used it before as well. Last week was a no-pill week but I didn't get my period. That has never happened before! No early signs of pregnancy, test negative. On Monday I was supposed to start a new pack of pills but I didn't.
So the question is do I wait for a month for my next period (which I will hopefully get) and resume the pill on the first day, or do I start taking it again now? Of course, I'm aware that I need additional protection one way or the other, my concern is more about throwing my hormones off if I decide to wait for my next period.

Since you stopped taking the pill, getting your period at its scheduled time next month is unlikely. It can take months for your body to regulate itself again after stopping the pill.
From what you posted it sounds like you tested too soon for pregnancy. You should be waiting until your period is at least two weeks late, then test using first morning urine (your first pee of the day). If that test is negative, wait until your next scheduled period (which will likely be off) and test again, or get a blood test done.
If you're not pregnant I would talk to your doctor about the fact that you quit the pill and wish to resume taking it.
Of course I don't have to tell you that pregnancy is a definite possibility. No form of birth control is 100%, there are women all over the world, more than a few on this site alone, that used 3 forms of birth control and still became pregnant. Any time you have sex, pregnancy is possible.
Good luck.

Thank you! I didn't stop the pill intentionally because of potential pregnancy, and I just want to start taking it again.
My question is whether it's OK for me to resume taking it now, only 2 days later, or not? I'm not too keen on the idea of waiting for the period, to be honest with you, and in terms of hormonal balance I feel like it's better for me just to keep going with the pill. I'm asking because maybe there is an expert out there or someone with similar experience...
I'm not too concerned about pregnancy as I'm not experiencing any other early symptoms, I know it can still be a possibility but it's highly unlikely. I was on the same pill before and after I quit it I got my period without any problems, it didn't take months to resume.

Agree it is OK to start taking it again, but since you did not get a period, you well may be pregnant, the pill is not 100 percent effective and pregnancy is very possible.
But you have to be over 2 week late to do the test. Plus always test with first urine of the morning.
