    Plastic faucet base plate
I want to put putty between the plastic base plate of a kitchen faucet and the stainless steel sink. Even though I know that none is needed I want to prevent any leakage between the fixture and sink. I bought a product called Oatey Plumbers Putty, but after reading the instructions on the container I found that it shouldn't be used on plastic. Is there any safe putty to use on the base plate?

Think I would use a little clear Kitchen and Bath caulk.

I think the issue is staining the plastic. Under the faucet, on such a small area should not be a problem. However, if you will worry, take Harold's advice.
