I have a state select water heater the model number is P64020LS. The serial number is A00131689. I have had this water heater in my house for 13 years. I would like how to correct this problem. My hot water heater runs for 3-4 days and then I will not have hot water. Then I have to press the red reset button and it runs for 3-4 days. Then it will shut down again.

Please consider replacing the water heater. A unit that old is not very energy efficient.

    Hi Loriantoine

The water heater is certainly getting up there in age, but since the water heater isn't leaking you may be lucky and just need to get the top thermostat (the one with the red reset button) and replace that...universal top themostat is about $15.00 - $20.00.

I would start saving for the new water heater after that...won't last more than 2-5 years in terms of averages!!
