I ran offices for building trade contractors for many years. I can assure you that this question cannot be answered online. There are too many variables. I'm a little worried that you have never done this before? Are you licensed as a GC?

I agree, you never get one bid, so much can depend on distance to run, and 100 things we can not see from a list of suupplies.

You get at least two, I recommend three bids. Next the cheapest is not always the best either. They need to provide you copies of license, workers comp insurance proof on workers, liability insurance. A professional will have all of this available with a bid.

    Hello Yaacovater,

This is a way too broad question to answer for somebody not licensed in Rockland County, NY.. There are too many variables to consider in bidding project of this size. As suggested above, call 3 plumber and ask for free written estimates. That will give you good idea how much it will run you.

Also, I have noticed you do not specify what faucets and other plumbing fixtures you intend your plumber to supply. Not sure whether the Owner doesn't care or you forgot. A sink faucet can run you $30.00 in Home Depot or $3K in Altmans in Beverly Hills. Cast Iron bath tub can run you $270 in Home Depot or $25K in Waterworks in Pasadena. So just saying "... supply faucets and bathtubs..." won't do. In order to have everybody to bid on the same stuff, give price allowance for plumbing fixtures.

Furthermore, you are not specifying what type of materials is to be used for plumbing. Copper is lot more expensive than PEX and Cast Iron drain system is much more expensive than ABS or PVC. Specify type of materials in your request for plumbing estimate, as well.

Lastly, because of the scope of the work, I would award the plumbing part of the contract to a plumber ( or company ) that has done this before. Handyman may come in the cheapest but may not have the knowledge and manpower to satisfy the Owner.

    Good luck

We don't give estimates without being there ourselves. Too many things involved. Union or nonunion plumbers. How many men on his job? Pay scale? Pipe footage and size? Backho? Length and depth of all trenches ? I could go on but you see what I mean.
Good luck with your new construction, Tom
