I had my period at 20th of December, so according to that my ovulation day would be 9th of January! We had intercourse rest of the week except that 9th Jan's night, we had it in the early morning.

Are there any chances that I could get pregnant? I can't conceive and been trying it form last 5 months, what to do ? We had intercourse on the daily basis. :( Please answer my question.

Why, yes, there is a chance you could be pregnant. Unless you have been tracking your ovulation using the basal body temperature, your ovulation date could differ a few days from the date you expected it.

Any time you have intercourse there is a chance of pregnancy. There is no form of birth control that is 100% effective.

I will even go further, ovulation charts or phone apps are educated estimates, and can even be off more than a few days for some women.

So if you were not actually testing ovulation, you really have no idea.

Next, you will want to have sex about two days prior to ovulation, since it takes the sperm 2 to 3 days to reach the egg. So if you had sex the 2, 3 and 4 days prior to actual ovulation, then your timing is great for pregnancy.

With that said, of course even doing that, some couples get pregnancy first month, others may take a year or more.

I don't have any ovulation kit or any other instrument , so hw can I get to know about it ? Or I could not afford any ?
And secondly are there any chances that you can conceive any other day except ovulation ? Or you need to carry out intercourse the whole month to conceive ?

There are ways to track ovulation based on your daily temperature. All you would need is a thermometer and a piece of paper. You can research tracking ovulation or talk to your OB/Gyn about it.

All women are different and ovulate at different times. The best way to track ovulation is with basal temperature readings every day. It can take around 6 months to figure out when you ovulate every month, using this method.

Where I live they have ovulation test kits at the dollar store. Many of the customers that have used them, swear by them. They also have pregnancy tests there.

Scott, this is a common misconception.

The egg is released from the ovary into the fallopian tube. It is fertilized in the fallopian tube where it then travels down into the uterus. Once the egg is in the uterus it is typically not viable for fertilization.

You can only become pregnant if sperm are present when you ovulate. Since most sperm will live only about 2 to 3 days, it is wise to have sex in the days leading up to suspected ovulation.

As was said, ovulation can vary a bit from woman to woman, but a starting place is about 12-16 days before you expect your period. Having sex a few days prior to this and a few days after may give you the best odds. If you can have sex every 2 to 3 days throughout each month, you should have the timing covered, but there is more to it than just good timing, so try not to become discouraged if it still takes a number of months, which is not uncommon. Many couples will find it takes a year or a bit longer to become pregnant. This too can be perfectly normal.

Agree, the sex needs to be done two or three days prior to your ovulation, not on the day of.

Let me see, having sex every day is a bad thing to do, he needs to not have sex except right before your most fertile days.

And next 5 months is not long, it can take healthy couples properly trying over a year at times.

Talk with your doctor, you will need to start tracking your ovulation times ( not online or phone charts) and then predict when ovulation will happen, and time sex for those 2 to 4 days right prior to ovulation.

And of course for the man, no tight underwear, if he does briefs ( maybe change to boxers) careful for hot tubs and sauna's. And so on.

Why can you not visit a doctor ? If your husband wants you to conceive, he is your family ?

No, any other date would be a guess, to properly do it, you need to track it.

Why can you not just go to the doctor if you want to ?

You are but half the equation in the baby making process and it does no good to keep trying unless you both are healthy and able. Has he been checked? Has it even been suggested or discussed?

Where do you live? What country? You're married, your family can't stop you from seeing a doctor.

The only way to accurately predict ovulation is with basal temperature readings. Look it up, or talk to a doctor about how to do this.
