    Murray 14hp riding mower
Hello, I've been trying to get my riding mower to work. It has a briggs and straton 14hp engine. It sat for the winter, and obviously battery was dead. I replaced it with a new one and it ran great. I let it sit about 3 hours and the battery didn't have enough juice to start it. The lights were not on. I jumped it off my car and it worked fine until I let it sit again. After 5 minutes its okay to restart, but after about 20 minutes its usually needs a jump. The battery still has juice in it, it just won't turn things over. What should I do? Thanks.

A new battery off the shelf needs to be slow charged for 4-5 hours at 3-Amps, Batterys are notoriously bad for riders, The juice it takes to start it is replaced after about an hour running. Do not assume that the "new" battery you bought this year or last is good. Do a voltage test it should be 12.5 Volts

Driving along and it died, won't restart. Engine turns over, fire is getting to the spark plug, but won't kick in. Anybody know how to troubleshoot this problem. I hate to take it to the shop, feel like it is a simple problem. It has gas, the plug is new, and has oil. Susan:confused:
