    Toilet flap doesn't stay up?
The handle needs to be held down for 15 seconds to allow all the water to drain from the tank. Anyone know how to make sure the flap in the tank stay up while the water drains out. It doesn't float upright when initially flushed. In all other aspects the flap works fine.

This could be as simple as adjusting the linkage. Make sure that there is a quarter inch of play in the linkage when the flapper is seated. Does it flush. Better now? Good luck, Tom

I have an older toilet, and the flapper doesn't stay up to allow the toilet to flush. I am pretty sure the other posts are talking about a newer version of the insides of a toilet where as I don't see any hooks for the flapper. The chain is where it should be a little bit of play but not too...

Toilet Flushing: tank drains, toilet doesn't flush, brand new toilet. [ 4 Answers ]

I read the other postings, and most of the problems came in with old toilets. Mine is brand new (within a year old) and I just moved in to my new place. The condo has 2 identical toilets and the other flushes just fine. I have mimicked the settings of the working toilet and still can't get my...

Is there a "flap" for a basement toilet that water comes in under? [ 27 Answers ]

We have an issue with the city's sewer system in which when it rains (pours, hard) water will come back into the house from out back. The clean out "flap" will close outside but it's never air tight, thus allowing some water back in. the only place it comes in is under our toilet in the...

Toilet flap vibration [ 2 Answers ]

I have a toilet that uses a disk-like flap instead of a ball. It pivots on a hinge and "hammers" down the flap onto the drain. I bought a brand new flap assembly and now when the toilet is filling after flushing, the flap vibrates and continues until you press it down. No signs of tears on the...
