Is Swelling common right above the extraction site?
I had an tooth extraction done on my upper right molar dec 4 at 11:00 am in the morning. The dentist said everything went smoothly and I was given simple instructions to take home. I'd just notice some swelling started to take on dec 6, right above the extraction in my gums and roof of my mouth is slightly tender is that normal? I know they said to expect it 24 or 48 hours afterwards. I didn't notice swelling on the 4th or 5th. I been rinsing with salt water and carefully brushing my teeth and been on a soft food for two days and I just started drinking pop yesterday should I'd waited longer to drink pop?

This is the 7th. I wouldn't worry too much unless the swelling gets sore to the touch. As with your tongue, not your finger. Don't brush the teeth around the site. That may be irritating sensitive tissue. Keep rinsing with the salt water. And discontinue the soft drinks.

If the swelling does not subside, call your dentist.

White gooey stuff on tooth extraction site [ 1 Answers ]

I got a molar extracted last Friday and although it doesn't really hurt, there is some white gooey stuff on the blood clot and it smells horrible. I'm not sure what it is. Should I remove it, or would I be dislodging the blood clot? The smell is really bothersome.

I had both my lower wisdom teeth pulled a week ago. I had very minimal swelling and was back to normal by the next day. I took all the precautions within the first 48 hours following the extraction. White Tissue In Extraction Site- Seems Loose [ 6 Answers ]

I had my lower back molar extracted on Monday at noon. There was a white mucusy looking lump that formed in the socket, that now feels loose- I've been at work all day today (and therefore talking a lot) and I'm worried that I might have done something bad that loosened it--- From what I've read,...

I had my top left moulers extracted (root canals gone bad) about a two months ago. They also put in freeze dried bone, and sutured the area. I went back about two weeks later and the sutures were removed and they said it was healing perfectly. Now a few months later I am having a dry sensation...
