In search of an answer.
Can someone explain the process of conception/fertilization and implantation to me, I mean someone that is medically inclined to answer this question. How long does the entire process take. I am 13 weeks and 1 day today. If I was one week pregnant on January the 5th what week did I get pregnant in. my fiance' says it was the week of christmas but I think it had to have been before then because the whole process takes a few days and if he is right that means the entire process took 2-3 days. That can't be right. Please someone tell me which one of us is right. Please only serious resposes.

Fertalization occurs when one sperm penetrates the ovum (egg). This takes place in the outer 1/3 of the fallopian tube and occurs within 24 hours of the ovums release. Once fertalization occurs the newly formed cell is called a zygote.
The zygote moves through the fallopian tube to the uterus within 3 - 4 days. The cells continue to divide, some of the cells develop into the embryo and a specific amount develop the placenta. Between days 6 - 10 enzymes are secreted that allow implantation.
The embryonic stage covers from 2 - 8 weeks after conception.
The length of pregnancy is computed using Nagale's rule, which counts back 3 months from the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP) and then adds 7 days. This is how a due date is figured.
My source was Potter & Perry's Fundamentals of Nursing.
I hope this helps.

OK when an egg is fertilized it starts a 7 day journey through the fallopian tube.. it begins multiplying on the way after day 7 it implants itself and begins to grow so your baby had to have been conceived around christmas

I live in Raleigh, by NCSU and I loved archery growing up but I have yet to find a place where you go and practice any type of archery.
If anyone knows of a place between Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, and Garner please let me know~

Asset Search

Hello:
I've always advised people that their assets could not be hidden because banks or lawyers could always do an "asset search". The truth is, I have no idea if they can, or even what one is.
Tell me, is there some secret data base somewhere that only banks or law enforcement can log on...
