    Plumbing problem
    When the shower is turned on a stream of water comes out of the diverter.
    What can I do.

    You don't give us much in the way of information, including what type of valve it is, much less a brand name so we can research it.
    I'm going to assure it's a three knob tub/shower valve with water coming out of the center diverter stem when the shower is turned on.
    This would indicate a bonnet packing nut that needs to be snugged up.
    Remove the knob and face plate. The brass nut that's exposed in the bonnet packing nut. Turn on the water and begain to tighten the packing nut. Stop when the leak stops. Do not over tighten. Reassemble every thing and you're back in business. If I have the question wrong click back whit more details. Cheers, Tom
