    Did security asst director violate my rights?
    I am a security guard in a hotel. I recently injured my knee in a comp related accident. I have 2 other open cases. A new asst director called me in yesterday to tell me he spent the week talking to health services and hr about my cases. He then warned me if I called out sick or came late after pt and chiro I would get write ups all the way to suspension. The head director never did this. Did he violate my hipaa and Ada rights? Did he threaten me and violate nys dsc120?

    Definitely no violation of HIPAA. There might be a violation of ADA if you have a recognized disability, but that doesn't sound like the case. I can find no reference to nys dsc120 are you sure you have the right cite?

    But, if what the director told you is company policy, then I don't see any threats either. If I were your employer I would be concerned too about such frequent injuries.
