Son wants custody of his child
My son is trying to get full physical custody of his 4 month old son. The mother and he initially separated and my son left his baby with his mother, however, he was getting him several nights a week for the first 2 weeks. They made an agreement that my son would get his son to bring to my nursing school graduation some 150 plus miles away. The night my son picked his son up to come to my graduation, the mother got into a physical altercation and was going to be arrested, when she apparently threatened suicide as well as harm to another person. She was hospitalized under strict supervision for over a week. My son filed for a restraining order, which under OR law, since it also involved his son, caused a temporary custody order in favor of my son. She has since missed two supervised visitations, had his dad pick him up early on one occasion due to not being able to 'handle him' (the baby boy), she has also been arrested twice in the past 6 days for Theft 3rd Degree. There is a pre-trial hearing set for my son and his baby in two weeks. He cannot afford an attorney and we are trying to prepare on our own. My son has two jobs (one f/t and one very p/t), his own place, a vehicle and family support. She was fired from her job, living with a cousin and does not have a vehicle or license. Any help to support my son's case is appreciated.

First, it's not a good idea to piggyback your question on another thread. To avoid confusion I've moved your post to it's own thread.

The fact of the mother's arrest record with no job or permanent residence should be more than enough to continue custody with him.
