    My lmp was sept 28th. I had a positive hpt on November 2nd and began spotting on Nov 3rd. No tissue or clots just enough flow to be there when I wiped. I didn't even need to use any pads or panty liners. I went for a u/s on November 12th and the radiologist could not find an embryo anywhere. She sent me back to the ER and my hcg level was 1796. I have no idea if that is normal. The ER doc was not very imformative. But since then I have not had anymore bleeding and seem to be having normal pregnancy symptoms. No pains or anything like that. I have a uterus that is tilted, could that be why they couldn't see the baby. Or maybe it was too early? Another possibility would be an ectopic but I have not had any pains to suggest this and I think I would be having some symptoms of it if that were the case wouldn't I?

    False positives are really rare for HPTs. You figure that you're about eight weeks? IT could be that they couldn't see it because the HCG levels seem to indicate a pregnancy of some variety. Could have just implanted and they couldn't see it on the 12th. That's odd though.
