    Is it insecurity that makes a daughter act so cruelly?
    My daughter seems to be embarrassed about me and is very mean to me at times. Is that because she's insecure?

    Insecurity is a vague and broad term that doesn't really get to the heart of a problem.
    How old is she?
    Is there a culture difference in a new setting such as a new country?
    Was there a father who is now absent?
    Can you explain how she acts with a few examples?
